The importance of emotional knowing of the self and the object.
자기와 대상에 대한 정서적 앎의 중요성.

I believe that what Bion means by "becoming" in the clinical situation is that the analyst, while in a state of reverie, is receptive to his patient's emotional communications by being in exquisitely sensitive contact with his own inner self—that is, his own unconscious reservoir of counterpart emotions, experiences, phantasies, and so on, which match up with those of the patient. Thus, the analyst's unconscious resonates with that of the patient. This act constitutes "becoming" or what I would call, following Plato, the "flux" or the "rhythm of becoming". This act is aided by our inherent possession of "mirror neurons" (Gallese, 2001; Gallese & Goldman, 1998), the neuronal basis for the quality of empathic observation (Grotstein, 2005). (Parenthetically, as I have stated earlier, "become" exemplifies the ancient Greek "middle voice"—a grammatical construction that unites the active and passive voices.)
